FAQs for the High Achieving Individuals

In a fast-paced environment, your time is your most valuable asset and your energy is the highest currency. Here are the answers to the questions most frequently asked by our high-achieving clients.

How often should I schedule a session?

Think of Reiki as essential maintenance for your nervous system. While a single session provides immediate stress relief, the benefits are cumulative. For those navigating high-stress careers or significant life transitions, we typically recommend:

  • Intensive: Once a week for 3–4 weeks to clear deep-seated blocks.

  • Maintenance: Once a month to sustain mental clarity and prevent burnout.

Is Reiki a replacement for traditional therapy or medical care?

No; it is a powerful complement to them. Reiki is a non-invasive energetic practice that works beautifully alongside psychotherapy, physical therapy, and Western medicine. While those modalities address the mind and body, Reiki addresses the energetic and nervous system response to stress. We often see the best results when clients use Reiki as part of a holistic wellness "team."

What if I can’t "quiet my mind" or sit still?

This is the most common concern for our "Type A" clients. The good news is: you don't have to be "good" at relaxing for Reiki to work. Unlike traditional meditation, where the burden of focus is on you, Reiki gently coaxes your nervous system into a parasympathetic state (rest and digest) regardless of your racing thoughts. Most clients find that their "mental chatter" naturally slows down within the first 15 minutes as the body takes the lead.

Do I need to "believe" in it for it to work?

Not at all. While an open mind is helpful, Reiki is not a belief system; it is a shift in energy and physiology. Many of our most loyal clients are scientists, lawyers, and engineers who initially came in skeptical but returned because they couldn't ignore the tangible physical and mental results they felt afterward.

What should I wear, and do I need to prepare?

Reiki is performed fully clothed. Wear whatever you feel most comfortable in—whether that’s your workout gear or your professional attire (though we recommend loosening your tie or removing your shoes). There is no "prep" required, but we do suggest staying hydrated after your session to help your body process the shift.
